In these last days, do we have a clearer understanding of the Gospel?

What is the essential work for this time?
“There is no change in the messages that God has sent in the past. The work in the cities is the essential work for this time. When the cities are worked as God would have them, the result will be the setting in operation of a mighty movement such as we have not yet witnessed.” Medical Missionary, pg. 304
How shall we work the cities, as God would have them worked?
“Henceforth medical missionary work is to be carried forward with an earnestness with which it has never yet been carried. This work is the door through which the truth is to find entrance to the large cities….” Testimonies to the Church, Vol. 9 pg. 167.
I just want to be like Jesus – Is not the Gospel just about love?
“True sympathy between man and his fellowman is to be the sign distinguishing those who love and fear God from those who are unmindful of His law. How great the sympathy that Christ expressed in coming to this world to give His life a sacrifice for a dying world! His religion led to the doing of genuine medical missionary work.” Medical Ministry, pg. 251.
How could Medical Missionary Work aid in the proclamation of the Gospel?
“When properly conducted, the health work is an entering wedge, making a way for other truths to reach the heart. When the third angels message is received in its fullness, health reform will be given its place in the councils of the conference, in the work of the church, in the home, at the table, and in all the household arrangements. Then the right arm will serve and protect the body.” Counsels on Diet and Foods, pg. 73.
“Much depends upon the question of Health Reform. Unless our churches occupy a higher platform upon this subject, they will not be able to appreciate the truth for this time.” Manuscript, Vol. 1 pg. 62
Should we emphasize the Law of God first and then at the end touch upon the Health question?
“Genuine medical missionary work is bound up inseparably with the keeping of God’s commandments, of which the Sabbath is especially mentioned, since it is the great work of restoring the moral image of God in man, this is the ministry which God’s people are to carry forward at this time.” Testimonies to the Church, Vol.6 pg. 266.
Would this be a proper representation of the Church – would it glorify God?
“The Lord desires through His people to answer Satan’s charges by showing the result of obedience to right principles. He desires our health institutions to stand as a witness for truth. They are to give character to the work which must be carried forward in these last days in restoring man through a reformation of the habits, appetite and passions. Seventh Day Adventists are to be represented to the world by the advance principles of Health Reform which God has given us.” Manuscript “God’s Design in Establishing Sanitariums,” Dec. 22, 1899.
How urgent is this reformation needed in the Church?
“As religious aggression subverts the liberties of our nation, those who would stand for freedom of conscience will be placed in unfavorable positions. For their own sake, they should, while they have opportunity, become intelligent in regard to disease, its causes, prevention, and cure. And those who do this will find a field of labor anywhere…. The shortness of time demands an energy that has not been aroused among those who claim to believe present truth.” Counsels on Health, pg 506.
Will these prophetic events present test the faith of God's People?
“The Lord has shown me clearly that the image of the Beast will be formed before probation closes. For it is to be the great test for the people of God, by which their eternal destiny will be decided. This is the test that the people of God must have before they are sealed.” (Rev. 13:11-17 quoted) Letter 11, 1890 (As found in the E.G. White study bible under Rev.13).
How will this test come?
“The truth for this time, the Third Angels’ Message, is to be proclaimed with a loud voice, as we approach the great final test. This test must come to the churches in connection with true medical missionary work, a work that has the Great Physician to dictate and preside in all that it comprehends.” Loma Linda Messages, pg. 62.
What does this mean to me as a Gospel Worker?
“My heart is made sad as I look at our churches, which ought to be connected in heart and soul and practice with the medical missionary work…I wish to tell you that soon there will be no work done in ministerial lines but medical missionary work.” Counsels on Health, pg. 533.
